Suspects arrested for gas pump skimming

Two suspects have been arrested following a 911 call on a suspicious vehicle. The two suspects are being federally prosecuted for their role in a gas pump skimming scheme. 

 On 06-23-2020 at 6:34 p.m., JeffCom received a 911 call from an employee at the Phillips 66 located at 16283 Morrison Road. An employee reported the suspicious vehicle was occupied by two males and they were tampering with the gas pump door. 

Within 8 minutes, two Morrison Police officers spotted the suspect vehicle at gas pump 12 and safely took the two suspects into custody. The suspects had just finished installing a skimmer device inside the gas pump when officers contacted them. 

After months of investigation, the two suspects have been linked to a multitude of Identity Theft cases throughout the Jefferson County area.

Son pled guilty to stealing money from his elderly father

Johnathon Tracey, DOB 05-04-19985, pled guilty for stealing money from his elderly father over a 7 month time period. He received 1 year probation with court ordered restitution. 

Detectives investigated suspicious spending and unauthorized withdrawals from the victim’s bank account from May 2018 to December 2018. The amount totaled to $7,944.87 dollars at several merchants including fast food restaurants, liquor stores, grocery stores, and cash withdrawals.

Tracey was arrested on 11-05-2019.  


Yonar Virello-Carralero, DOB 11-26-1985, pled guilty to Identity Theft on 11-18-2020 and received an 18 month Deferred Probation Sentence.

Detectives investigated fraudulent spending on the victim’s bank card following a purchase at the Ross in Belmar and several ATM cash withdrawals. Surveillance footage lead detectives to Virello-Carralero who stole around $4,251.85 dollars.


Jordan Dale

Jordan Dale, DOB 08-28-1990, pled guilty to Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft on 11-10-2020 and was sentenced to 2 years at the Department of Corrections with 1 year parole.


On 09-21-2020, a Morrison Police Officer was lead on a short vehicle pursuit that resulted in a non-injury single vehicle accident. The vehicle was later discovered to be stolen out of Westminster and the driver was apprehended hours after he fled on foot. 

 

 Carlin-Estrada

Christopher Carlin-Estrada, 20 pleaded guilty to Eluding a Peace Officer and Underage Drinking and Driving.

On 08-31-2020, a Morrison Police Officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a speeding violation on EB 470 at Morrison Road. The officer was lead on a short vehicle pursuit that resulted in a non-injury single vehicle accident where occupants fled on foot. The driver, Carlin-Estrada, was apprehended on scene.
